Fingers to the Bone is a series of stories, not necessarily in chronological order, about the various jobs I’ve had and how they have shaped my life experiences. A few of these stories will meander around some pretty crazy sets of circumstances, but they’re worth telling. They represent so much about who I am and where I’ve come from.

Surprise! The United States Air Force and Me - At seventeen, lost and searching, I found an unexpected path in my mother's warning about "those kinds of women" in the military. Six months of training flipped my world upside down, teaching me that sometimes your biggest regrets come from the roads not taken.

Hard Knocks - Raw beginnings, learning life's toughest lessons on the job. With no degree and a heap of religious trauma, I kept doing things scared - showing up every day, finding ways to stay standing after the punches life threw.

San Antonio Zoo - A motorcycle, a sassy job applicant, and a close encounter with a gorilla.

Temporary Insanity - A grass-green thrift store suit, a screaming attorney, and a letterhead disaster - my early misadventures as a temp worker in Manhattan taught me that sometimes 'fake it till you make it' needs a reality check.
